Beast didn't know how long he'd been in this strange forest, maybe a day? Two? He was exhausted. His back legs hurt and despite the added stamina his great body provided him there was only just so much he could take. Nothing made sense here, the air was different and though it was warmer than his corner of the universe (because now he was beginning to think there were multiple ones), it still gave him an odd feeling of emptiness.
He had searched hard and long for his beloved rose when he'd woken up here as well, but to no avail. This frightened him and as he stared down at his long claws and matted fur he could only feel disgust and failure inside him. What am I going to do? He wondered as he'd trekked deeper into the forest, feeling like a blind lost fool. But just as he thought there was little hope to be found for a shelter he'd come upon this structure in the middle of the woods. It was old and weathered looking but it was better than being out in the unknown of the forest that whispered and crept up his spine like a phantom.
Creeping inside on all fours, Beast bent his head forward, surveying the door before raising a pawed finger to tip open the door. Its' hinges squealed and he winced as he hurried inside, leaving the door open behind him. Sniffing, Beast rose up quietly on his two legs as he started to make his way into the shadows of the house.

Elsa had crafted a structure to protect herself and her sister from the elements, but after a few days inside she had started feeling the pressure of cabin fever, so she had left the palatial structure. One day of exploration wasn't going to hurt anyone. They hadn't seen anyone except Ursula yet, so Elsa felt fairly certain that there were no other people around.
The queen spotted the building from the back, peeking out between the trees. It was probably desolate, based on everything else she had seen thus far. Trailing one hand along the wall--and leaving a thin trail of ice in the wake of her fingers--she followed the building until she found the main door. It didn't really surprise her that it was open.
An unusual sense of curiosity came over the queen, and she entered, not noticing the strange footprint pressed into the ground.
Still, something urged her to call out a greeting. Just in case the building wasn't as abandoned as it appeared. "Hello?" she called softly, her nerves keeping her voice from rising above speaking-tone.

Beast scoffed softly. This place definitely wasn't as lavish as his dilapidated mansion had been (nor was it as well kept, perks of having servants who still liked to clean) but it would do for now to keep him safe. At least, he hoped. The way the floor creaked as he stepped around made him think twice if it would hold up his form but just as he was contemplating a remedy for this he heard a voice from behind.
His eyes widened as he instinctively ducked behind a nearby sofa which had been overturned and probably laying in that position for eons. Ears perking up in case he misheard, Beast let himself peer around the furniture in time to see a figure standing against the door in the light. His blue eyes narrowed as he tried to see closer, thankful that this curse allowed him some form of night vision to help him see better his foes. And honestly, at this point he viewed everything his adversary.
"Who goes there?" He demanded, trying to sound intimidating as he crouched low, ears back as he surveyed the stranger. It was some sort of woman, he gathered by their slender figure and someone of status he sensed. He instantly thought of something from his past: sorceress. Negative thoughts paraded his brain as he continued to hide, not sure of this presence. Would they choose to face him, he wondered or how easy would it for him to just jump out and roar, scaring them off his new-found property. A prince to the end, Beast would not give up so easily the new land he had conquered so quickly...
"Stay back!" He shouted again, making sure a hint of a growl was there as he prepared to make his next move.

Elsa paused at the response to her greeting. It was a deep, intimidating voice, and the queen couldn't tell exactly where the voice had come from. The shadows within the building made it difficult. It was too dark to see, and Elsa couldn't make out much in the gloom.
The voice shouted at her to stay back, and Elsa took a few steps back. She recalled all too well telling Ursula to stay back, though she'd used different words, and she'd managed to keep the threatening tone to a minimum. The growl in these two words conveyed an entirely different message to the queen.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. I mean you no harm." Elsa kept her voice soft, gentle, as non-threatening as she could manage. She had a firm grip on her ice powers, however, so if the speaker were to jump out at her, Elsa would not hesitate to defend herself.

Beast recoiled at the softness in her tone but quickly recovered. Her? Startle him? He wanted to laugh aloud at that! What was she? 5'2 to his 7 foot? At least, standing at his greatest height, not counting the horns and all. He settled on a snicker, his eyes watching the young girl carefully once again. She didn't appear threatening... but as he knew well, looks could be deceiving and Beast wasn't about to let his guard down for some pretty face. So as his mouth opened again to say something he thought better of it. No, he wasn't about to ask this person any questions... give away his secret rose. For all he knew she might have had it. For all he knew this witch could be the reason he was here in the first place!
So with that thought, the great beast slipped quickly out of his hiding place and jumped ontop of a nearby bookcase, his hind legs scrambling as he took his perch. Staring down at her threatening, his lips pulling back in a daring snarl, Beast let out a loud roar that shook the house. Bunching back, Beast kept his icy glare on the small figure as he jumped down before her, raising a clawed fist. "Keep away I say!" From the exhaustion and fear of the strange place Beast had reverted back to his old ways, hardly thinking as he stared dangerously down at the pale faced woman, challenging her to fight back in his lust for a fight.

Elsa barely managed to conceal her jump as sudden noises started in front of her. She heard claws. Taking another step back, Elsa looked around, straining to keep her fright hidden away. She felt ice coat her hands, and she knew she was close to breaking composure.
With a roar, a large shape appeared before her, and Elsa panicked. She took a larger step back, thrusting her hands toward the creature, loosing a blast of ice. If only there was enough light for her to see clearly! Had she not been keeping away? She'd retreated a few steps, hadn't she? If the speaker had wanted her to leave, he could've said so. Elsa didn't think much of his manners. Kristoff had been more polite, and he had been raised by trolls! And even Hans--who Elsa despised with every fiber of her being--had been polite.
"There was no need to jump at me," she said harshly, her tone cold. She had recovered enough from her panic to put on the mask once again. "You could have simply asked me to leave." She stayed where she stood, just inside the door. By the large size of the speaker, Elsa had a sinking feeling he would be able to break through her ice with little difficulty. To be honest, Elsa was hoping to draw him out of the building, enough for her to see him.

Beast was aware of something deathly cold hitting his face. He barely caught sight of it but had that come from the girl? Wide eyed, the great hulk staggered back, shielding his face as the onslaught stopped. Snorting, Beast managed to fend the icy spread away enough for him to get a good glare at the supposed witch infront of him.
"I knew it! Sorceress!" He barked, moving again in hopes of avoiding another one of her attacks. "I don't have to simply anything for witches like you!" He growled in response, taking a careful step out of her way as he blocked the entrance now. He studied her movements before moving once more out of her range and closer to the window where light showed through. "Aren't you scared?" He demanded, baring his teeth as he tilted his head to the side, half-glaring at her and half-curious. Perhaps she hadn't seen him due to the dark yet or she was stupid... he figured both.

Elsa felt the terror she'd felt the first time she was called a witch rise within her, but she quickly squashed it, hiding the emotion by lifting her head slightly. She followed the sounds with her head, her eyes darting, straining to see. The speaker stopped by the window, close enough for Elsa to see dark fur, and ...horns?
The appearance of the creature was unexpected, but Elsa hid her reaction, her mind wheeling frantically. She had no knowledge of such a creature, and it was unnerving.
At the creature's question, Elsa inclined her head again. "The only time I have ever been truly frightened--" not including a few minutes ago... "--was when I thought I had killed my sister." Her tone was still icy, as the memory was not one she looked on fondly.

Beast could practically smell the fear coming off her as he stood hunched before her. He didn't know why he got a sick, twisted feeling for it, perhaps it was the reminder of the ghost of power he used to have. And not having any servants around to order about was depleting him too. He had to do something to expend his frustrations.
Her response came as a surprise. Sister? The frankness of the statement made him hesitate as well (so she had killed, or tried to kill before?) thinking twice before raising another hand to swat her away. "I care little about your sibling relations..." He huffed as his eyes traveled over her attire. She was in some sort of dress, it looked expensive and he wondered if all enchantresses dressed like that or if it was just her. "Well? Are you going to leave or not?" Beast wasn't about to share space with some ice witch. "Or do I have to remove you myself?" It was only a half-threat since he didn't really want to find out how she made more of that ice appear out of no where. He stood taller, defiance written over his maw as the spoiled prince stood his ground.

The creature's growling statement didn't surprise Elsa too much. He had no reason to care about Elsa's relationship with her sister. But considering that she had only been answering his question...
Elsa couldn't fathom what his problem was with her. He was very defensive, and Elsa could tell that her initial kind words had done nothing to soothe him.
Straightening, she took another step back, and bowed her head as she would to an equal. "I didn't mean to disturb you. If you decide you want a friend..." Elsa left her sentence unfinished. "I can see myself out."

The Beast was surprised at how easily the stranger backed down at his threat. A part of him smugly nodded and thought 'good!' but another part of him, the human part, did not want her to leave. Maybe she wasn't out to do him harm nor the one who made him end up here. She was the one that looked out of place here, not him, what in this dark, dim building.
The word 'friend' made him look up and almost shameful as he looked back at her and then out at the dark wood. As if on cue there was a loud thundering outside and suddenly raindrops began to splatter outside. This was as good of an excuse as any to keep her from leaving.
"Wait." He sighed, remorse tugging at his heart. "You can stay... I mean, just until the rain passes at least..." He added quickly before gathering up his cloak around him, giving the girl what he hoped as an apologetic look. "This place really doesn't belong to me... I just found it for shelter." And good timing too, he thought. Standing awkwardly, Beast backed away this time himself and offered her a short bow. "Please, pardon my behavior from before."

At the sound of thunder, Elsa jerked her head towards the door. It hadn't startled her, exactly. It was more that she wasn't looking forward to hiking in the rain. She had turned to leave, her hand extended to craft a shield from the downpour, when...
"Thank you," she murmured, lowering her hand. It would've taken a non-stop stream to maintain the shield in this weather.
She couldn't help but notice his demeanor had changed completely. She hid a small smile, glad to see that his gruff exterior was a form of defense in general, and not a reaction to something Elsa had done.
At his words that he had found the building empty, Elsa nodded. "I fashioned a rudimentary shelter from my magic. It's nothing like the castle in Arendelle, but it serves its purpose." The walls should be strong enough to withstand the rain, though she may have to reinforce it after the storm.
The creature bowed, offering Elsa a proper apology. She curtsied in return. "I am Qu-- Elsa. My name is Elsa." Anna's words regarding giving their titles were ringing in her mind, and she knew Anna had a point. They weren't in Arendelle, but they also weren't somewhere recognizable. There were so few people here, that Elsa wasn't sure if her title mattered.

Beast was relieved when she thanked him and agreed to stay. To be honest he had been rather lonely these past hours and it was nice to have some actual human contact for once. He wouldn't have said that a few weeks earlier, he thought, not if it hadn't been for Belle showing up at his castle. Thinking of his missing guest made him sad but he knew that whatever magic had brought him here must have only effected him because surely she would have been close by if it had gotten her too?
"Arendelle?" Beast had never heard of that kingdom before. Her style and manner were much different than his world- maybe she was from here? He was also interested that she mentioned a castle. "I used to live in a castle..." Not that it was much of a castle without actual people living in it but it had the furnishings of one.
When she displayed the polite gesture in response to him Beast instantly recognized it as royal. His eyes narrowed as he started to piece together her attire as well. Now what was someone of her statue doing out in a place like this? He thought better of mentioning it, for now at least.
"Elsa." He said, testing the name on his lips, pausing a while as he thought about giving his own name. He figured since he might never become human again he didn't deserve a name. Though he had had one before the curse. "Right, I suppose you don't have any way of making a fire with your... magic, do you?" Beast still wasn't sure what he thought about her having magic but she didn't seem to mean him or anyone else ill harm using it.

Elsa couldn't craft a model of the entire kingdom in her hand, but she could show him what the castle had looked like. Holding up one hand in front of her, she built the model from her palm up. It was a weak structure, and it would collapse as soon as she released the thin stream of magic. But she held it long enough for him to see. "I lived in the castle my entire life. It was... lonely, but necessarily so..." She didn't elaborate further.
The queen didn't fail to notice that the creature hadn't given his name. She wondered why, but given his earlier temperament, she decided not to ask. It would be rude to ask, when it could upset him; and after he grudgingly had allowed her to stay, she didn't want to push him.
She didn't bother to hide her smile this time. "No, I'm afraid my magic is useless at making fire. I can put one out..." A glance outside revealed that any wood they were to bring in would be wet. "I could also possibly dry out some wood, if we were to bring some in... I've never tried that before." And to be honest, she wasn't entirely sure how to make a fire. Kai and the rest of her staff had always been proficient, building fires before she entered the room.

Beast watched her in astoundment as she crafted a small, yet elaborate structure with a wave of her hand. He appreciated the craftsmanship before smiling slightly himself. Yet when he heard her latter words he frowned. Lonely? He felt that there was something more to that statement but he wouldn't pry, it was none of his concern, he reminded himself. "I know the feeling." He admitted, turning his head away so she couldn't see the sadness in his eyes.
Beast listened to her next words and couldn't help but let out a deep chuckle. "What? Only ice?" He moved to the doorway and peered out, weighing her suggestion. He'd built many a fire and wasn't afraid to get his coat wet if it meant making their stay more comfortable. Turning to Elsa he raised his paw and gestured for her to remain where she was. "I'll be right back." He said, hoping she wouldn't end up leaving him instead. Though he wouldn't blame her.
Trekking out into the forest the rain beaded down upon his brow steadily. One thing about being a giant furry beast was the protection from the cold in the rain. It seemed to slide right off him as he went into the woods, looking tersely around for a weak trunk he could use. Finally he found one and used his mighty claws to hack off some pieces. Quickly now he came back toward the building but not before checking behind him to see if something were there. He could have sworn earlier he'd seen something moving in the shadows. It must have been the light playing tricks on him, he decided and ducked back inside.
"Alright, see what you can do with these." The Beast said as he went further into the shelter, laying the wood in the middle of what might have been a living room, pushing some furniture aside to make room. When he settled back into a seated position he watched as she moved to dry the pieces with her magic. "This is all so strange... waking up here... in this place... did you find yourself waking up here as well?" He had suspected earlier that she wasn't from here and was rather convinced this place was an isolated wasteland with no occupants whatsoever. He wondered if Elsa was alone too.
